The Smart Urban Gardens (SUG25) workshop, organized by the City-as-Lab Research Coordination Network (RCN), took place at Arizona State University from October 16 to October 17, 2025. This event gathered researchers, practitioners, faculty, and students to explore Smart Urban Gardens as a solution for enhancing city sustainability. Funded by the National Science Foundation, the workshop included invited talks and idea development for participants to work closely in groups. The objective is to identify current needs, gaps, and future directions for core enabling methods and approaches that promote understanding and discovery of solutions for elevating the equity and sustainability of cities using networks of intelligent urban gardens.
