Title:  FEW Meter Project: Measuring the Food, Energy, Water and Social Impacts of Urban Agriculture
Registration Here

Abstract:

The FEW-meter project is a five-country study of the resource flows of diverse urban agriculture projects. The project developed a comprehensive database of the material composition and practices of the study sites. The data collected over two growing seasons are currently being analyzed to understand the impacts of urban agriculture from a food-energy-water nexus perspective and to help the urban farmers we collaborated with improve the efficiency of their farms. Cohen will discuss the process of creating and populating the database, the methods being used to estimate the life cycle impacts of the farms and gardens, measure the social dimensions of the projects, and model the opportunities and resource needs for scaling up urban food production.
